FOREVER CHANGE THE WAY YOU CHANGE: THRESHOLDS OF CHANGETM
The pace of change in our world is much more rapid than it was a decade ago and the decade before that. With the influence of technology and the human thirst for knowledge and the new, this pace is not likely to slow. An organization’s ability to recognize this and stay abreast of the change curve is a highly evolved skill, one that often means the difference between average performance and brilliance.
The Thresholds of Change model reveals expert change agent Rebecca Reynolds' unique approach to working with change. In working across subject matter and place, Rebecca noticed a common pattern underlying each of her client projects. Seeing this pattern, which has phases and a sequence, made it easier for her to support her clients in successfully moving through change. And to achieve much greater results through the process. Rebecca developed the Thresholds model to put form to this pattern: four stages marked by distinct thresholds.

The Thresholds model explained in her book, Thresholds of Change: The Way Through Transformational Times, is a real game-changer for how to think about and approach big change. For example, most of what people frame as “problems” are really situations needing change: in thinking, in inner capability, in identity, and in the view of the world. With the “problem” approach, experts are brought in to provide fixes, but these often are met with resistance or don't work, or both. What is needed is the ability to help people transform.
Many people have “natural” ability in this kind of work – but there has been no common rubric to really make it effective. This is what the Thresholds of Change model offers.
The Thresholds model is a timely new approach to transform the way we think about and face change. According to Rebecca, rather than a problem to be solved, change is a call for expansion. And change comes about, like the seasons do, in a distinct process with its own phases and sequence.

"As I’ve witnessed in countless projects, the mechanics of change operate no matter what the change is about, where it happens, or how we react to it. The Thresholds model offers a clear picture of how change comes about. This underlying process can be learned, and with it, our innate ability increases, change becomes easier, and we gain more from it."
